Merging Stacks

I'll go into hiding if this in the documentation somewhere, but there doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to merge two or more stacks.  It would seem that it should be possible to merge stacks by simply selecting the stacks and using the same command for merging files into a stack.  Am I missing something or should I make this a feature request?

I do not know for sure, but I guess, you are right, this is not possible.
So if you want, you could write a feature request.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

You cannot add one stack to another stack. Unstack the files from stack B you want to add to stack A, then add them to A.

If the files aren't more or less contiguous in a sort order, that can be a bit unwieldy.  I'm going to give stack operations a bit of thought and then write a feature request.  I think stack operations could be made much more useful (whether or not there are enough people who want that to make it worth the time is another matter).

Right-click to select individual files.
If you find this to tiresome, use a collection or bookmark to tag the files you want to include in the stack.

That's what the collections are for. Any number of files, tag with a single key, then switch to the collection view to stack them, or apply a collection filter in a folder/category/time-line file window to limit only to tagged files, then stack. Easy to to, very efficient workflow. You can also switch the file window to a custom sort and shuffle the files together. There are already so many options...

If the files to stack are not contiguous in any way, maybe some other criteria could be used to auto-stack them?

Mario

While looking into this I've made a small bug fix. It was not always possible to combine files from multiple stacks into one.
