Data driven category problem

Did I do something wrong or is it a bug?
I created a data driven category based on the file names to circumvent the Timeline which isn't giving correct results (looks like it uses some date modified field instead of the date taken or date created, something I'll have to investigate further).

Attached my settings and how for one example date it only displays 5 images out of 18 that should be displayed.
