For some reason a filter is not working in one of my folders. I've spent 30 mins trying to figure out what I might have done.
I want to filter dng files in one of my recently created folders (In fact on testing it does not matter what extension I use, the result comes up empty) .
I have typed in dng into the search bar. The result comes up empty (it was showing files earlier)
The filter works fine in the parent directory, but only for the parent directory, it does not show up any files in child directory.

I have checked the Filter manager, none of he boxes are ticked, so this cannot be what is stopping a file being found

I have noticed that the large X to the right of the input on the search bar is a dark grey colour - I have a feeling this used to be red???

Pretty well stumped on this one!

Any ideas welcome.

Aubrey.

When you use the search bar in the file window, use the drop-down menu (small arrow button next to the X) to tell IMatch where you want to search. Probably you have not included the file name. Click into the Filter Bar and then press <F1> for an explanation of all options.

I had selected "Search file names only"

The filter worked fine using the filter manager But did not work using tool bar. The Toolbar filter worked fine on parent folder (but still did not see DNGs in child folder)

I created a new child folder and copied the images there. The toolbar filter now works fine.

It must have been some gremlin I introduced  with my workflow. I'll keep this in mind in the event it occurs again.

Thanks,
Aubrey.

Make sure you search the correct scope. If the file window does not show the files in the child folders (hierarchical display off) the search bar will also not search there. The scope allows you to control where filters and the search bar operate, which files are searched.

Mario,
Thank you for tip. However, when the toolbar filter was off all files; NEF and DNG displayed.

In any case problem resolved itself by moving files to a new folder, deleting old folder and renaming new folder to the original name.

Thanks again for your response.
Aubrey.
