Is it possible to have certain folders always excluded from being scanned?

I sync and backup many files on my computer on a hourly and daily basis with a program called GoodSync.  Some of those files include my photos.  GoodSync creates a hidden folder called _gsdata_ to keep track of the sync state and to make backup copies of deleted files, etc etc.  From time to time I rescan a section or all of my photos with IMatch and thus it includes the contents of _gsdata_ and it's contents.

I can go back and remove these specific folders from the IMatch database but it would be better if I could simply 'always' exclude the _gsdata_ folder and its contents.  I have looked through help but have not found any such feature.  Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Thanks.

Maybe there could be a mechanism that checks for a certain "flag" file in a folder, like "iMatch_NoIndex" and iMatch would then not index any folders that contain that file.
Similar approaches exist for other applications.

If the folders are hidden that should be easy: there is an option to exclude hidden and system files. And a second one for folders. See Preferences - Indexing.

Thorsten,
That's what I was looking for.  Thanks.
