Map Target Marker

Is it possible to make the Map Target Marker disappear - short of removing the map panel and bringing it back?  When the map is initially shown the Target Marker is not present.  There are times when I would like it to disappear after I have used it.  Is this possible?

No. The target marker is always there. Except, when you open the map panel first, it is in an invisible area. Once you have given it a location, it will always be visible.
