Vanished Thumbnails

I am using the most recent version of IMatch.  In one folder several thumbnails are blank just showing a maroon background with a shield in the middle.  The photos are all jpegs, located where they have always been in a folder with several other photos taken at the same time.  The images will open up in the windows viewer but not the slide show.  I have tried rescan to no avail.  Any way I can get these thumbnails back?

Did you by any chance use the "Protected files" feature on these pictures? To check, just have a look at the corresponding collection. If the pictures in question appear in this collection, you have  (inadvertently? ) protected them from viewing.

Thorsten is right.

You have (maybe accidentally) protected these files  and IMatch thus hides the thumbnails from view unless you enable the display of protected files.

That solved it.  Thank you.  I never use protected so am not sure how it got checked.
