In the new Design&Print module, the page lay-out is largely determined by a grid (either a document grid or a page grid). Each gridcell can contain one or more containers.

When it comes to putting files into (file-)containers, it appears that files are automatically fed to these gridcells/containers, not only based or their respective filenames, but also on the order of the containers. Lets consider a grid which consists of 3 rows and 2 columns. First file goes into the top left gridcell (first row, first column), second file goes into the first row, second column, third file goes into second row, first column and so on.

The sequence is therefore: first fill all columns in the first row and after that: start filling the second row. First left to right and secondly top to bottom. In other words: rows first, than columns.

Is there a way to change that order to "first top to bottom and secondly left to right". In other words: columns first, than rows.

Has anybody any solution or will this have to be a "feature request"?

Lookup the important Z-Order in the Printing help. This is what controls how dynamic templates fill the containers on your pages. It also controls many other important aspects, e.g. the relation between text and file containers.
