Hi:
As always I made a new directory on Windows Explorer with several sub directories.(E1.jpg)
Went to IMatch and on the node 17 meses I use Ctrl+Shift+F5.(E2.jpg)
What happens:
On the node nothing happens (E2.jpg)
On the top of the database I have all the 17 meses directory. (E3.jpg)
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
JRosa.

Press <F5> once after clicking somewhere in the tree. This reloads the database tree and re-aligns the parent and the new children.

Hi:
Doesn't work.
As told this is what I have:
In my external hard drive I added the folder Erra:
So I have:
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 21\Rita 1_2 anos\17 Meses\Erra (with 6 sub folders each one with photos)
Fajarda (with 1 sub folder with photos)
Montijo Kids to Kids 29_03_2014 (with 1 sub folder with photos)
Sintra (with 1 sub folder with photos)
In IMatch I right click on 17 meses and choose Rescan Now or F5, Ctrl+Shift+F5,Shift+F5, nothing works (well it works as follow)
The result is that IMatch puts all this on the top of the database :
17 Meses\Erra (with 6 sub folders each one with photos)
Fajarda (with 1 sub folder with photos)
Montijo Kids to Kids 29_03_2014 (with 1 sub folder with photos)
Sintra (with 1 sub folder with photos)
In Fotos 21\Rita 1_2 anos\17 Meses\ remains what I had before:
17 Meses\Fajarda (with 1 sub folder with photos)
Montijo Kids to Kids 29_03_2014 (with 1 sub folder with photos)
Sintra (with 1 sub folder with photos)
Thanks in advance,
JRosa.

If the parent folder(s) of the folder you add are not in the database, IMatch will link your new folders under the drive/media node.

Hi:
The parent folder exists:
Tried again wit other folder (please see E5.jpg)
I had a folder called Antigas in Fotos 2 with 137 pictures.
I added a folder called Pai Zé.
Rescan Now over the folder Antigas.
What happened:
It was created a new folder and sub folder under the drive/media node.
Never happened before.
Thanks in advance,
JRosa.

Run a database diagnosis and send me the log file. It will show all folders in your database, maybe I can see what the problem is.
Whenever IMatch cannot find the parent folder of a folder in the database, it links it to the top-level. This is what happens in your case. Make sure all parent folders are in the database etc.

Thanks for your support.

The folder E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\ reports 8 child folders, but apparently has 10 or more?
I don't know how you managed to do this, or in which sequence you add the child folders or something. I don't recall having a similar support case ever, and this code is really tested and many years old.

I suggest you just rescan

E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\

and let IMatch re-establish the links of all child folders.

Hi:
The folder E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\ reports 8 child folders, which is correct in IMatch and in the external drive.
The first one (Alhandra) has 5 sub folders.
Any way we can close this post , because I put my backup file from another external drive and it is working as expected.
I only have to categorize about 200 / 300 hundred files again.
No big deal.
Thanks again for your time.
JRosa.

Mario

This is what I see in the log

E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\Alhandra\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\Bia\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\Dina\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\M.João\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\Pai Zé\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\Sampaio\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\Mota\
E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\Vasco Lima Couto\

so Pai Zé should show up as a child folder of E:\Fotos  Zé\Fotos 13\Recuperações\ in the folder tree, unless there is some sort of weird problem. I would need the database in my lab to tell you more.
