For some reason, i have 506 images in my main database that have *some* metadata pending ... (as seen in the Collection).

I did not want this!
I think, this happended when playing around with IMatch.

Is there any way to just drop those changes?
I searched everything, but cannot find something.

I am realy not interested in them - and esp. not in writing them into XML files or (god help) back into the original images ...

:-O

Database tools -> clear processing queues.

Mario

This is a last resort option.
You can also just use Shift+Ctrl+F5 and then use "reload metadata". This will also replace the modified metadata in the database with what's in the file. Note that changes will get lost.

I tried to reload with all 4 options, when using Ctrl together with the menu
        BTW: This is REALY hidden!
Why not offering those options in the menu?
IMatch hides lots of things instead of offering them :-(

With some pictures, that reloads helped.

But i still had things that could not be deleted from the queue / Collection.

So, i use the database tool and cleared any queue.

That finally helped!
Thanks for the hint!

Just for the record:

This experience showed me, that i need to configure IMatch in a way that it does not even try or want to write something back to my images.

But i will explain this in another posting and try to be not fast and hurried with my explanations as i am usually ;-)

MyMatch

This is the normal Rescan.

I meant the 4 options available, when adding the Ctrl keys when using the menu.
I think, 80% or 90% of IMatch users will never know, that there is such an option ...

Most people open any help system when they seek help for a specific problem.

Therefor, it is good to have all options visible - as much as possible - and not hidden with special keys or keys in combination with mouse-actions. Keys are good as documented shortcuts, but not when they can do things that cannot be done at all with the mouse.

Mario, i just want to communicate this to you, that´s all.

IMatch is your baby and you see it different - which is fine - but i think you should also hear what people think who see the product the first time.
Even if you belive me, no changes are required - but i would like you open your mind to different expectations and behaviors.
That´s all.
No attack intended ;-)
No answer required.

Best wishes!

In this case I am with you, MyMatch.

With  right-click, the line, what Mario has attached a bit above

Rescan now Umschalt + F5 ; Strg + Umschalt + F5

could be on two lines, because if there a showing something with

do this with  xxx ; xyxyxy
so I would think, this means take xxx OR xyxyxx. But I would not think, that there are two different commands behind.

Maybe a second line would help, something like this

Rescan xxxxx
Rescan with options xyxyxy

I did not know this possibility for a long time, that is why I am with you here.  ;D
But of course Mario has to decide.  :D
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)
