I almost posted this to the Off-Topic forum, because it may be "technically" off-topic. But I think Mario deserves unique praise for his development of IMatch over so many years... It is regrettable when no one pauses to simply praise the intelligence, creativeness, and ingenuity of a software developer who make our lives and jobs less stressful and more enjoyable.

IMatch has been critically useful to me, on a daily basis, for nearly ten years. I am not a pro photographer, but like many amateurs, I take many photos, and IMatch has provided both an elegant and intelligent system to store and recall those memories.

On a more important note, my wife had a very difficult lawsuit against an employer 10 years ago, and I discovered (by accident) that IMatch was also a perfect document manager for classifying scanned records. Imatch was a godsend, and, unlike the lawyers, I always trusted IMatch's capability : ) Three years later I was dealing with another legal case- and IMatch was there to help.

I think IMatch stands apart (and above) as a pro-level, multi-format DAM... which somehow still remains end-user friendly. Imatch is a very unique and fascinating piece of software that is often just fun to explore.

Thank you Mario!

+1 and add another 9 if allowed so Mario gets 10 out of ten

Publish on other sites to let them know our satisfaction.

Tallpics

+1 from me too.

IMatch is an incredible program offering enough versatility and options to keep huge databases of images quickly available and searchable.

My only recommendation to anyone considering a DAM program is to give IMatch a try.

Actually I have a second recommendation... get started on your image cataloguing as soon as you can... today would be good ;-) Every day the pile of pics gets bigger!

The digital age that we are privileged to live in tempts us all to take more and more pics which then just sit hidden on a hard drive.

The answer to this modern problem is a good Digital Asset Manager.

IMatch combines a simple logical interface with a huge depth of customization for more specialist uses.

Also IMatch is about to be joined by a complimentary app that will bring everything right up-to-date giving access to your database of pics/videos/music over any network. Nice!

I've been using IMatch since 2004 and it comes with my highest recommendation.

I think that deserves another one of these..... +1

I have yet to find another software solution in any field with this flexibility, ability to customise it to your needs, very active forum, and of course Mario's unbelievable support.

We all need to support Mario in getting this message out.

Mario

Thank you all

I hope that you will also like the new awesome IMatch Anywhere product.

Technologies developed for IMatch Anywhere will also become an integral part of IMatch 6 (2017).
This makes it possible to include 'web' features like a better Map Panel, 'sharing' features, utilizing web services, e.g., for face detection or automatic classification of images, scripting in JavaScript with cool and flexible user interfaces. More power for IMatch, faster and simpler to use. Just wait  ;)

I will also look into better support for video files, some ideas in that area...

And there are some cool feature requests that will be useful for more than a handful of users. I'm sure we'll see many of these in IMatch 6.

I'm looking forward to 2017  :)

Hope so, too.
But currently I'm in crunch time for IMatch Anywhere.
And the issue discovered with the memory usage when running a database optimize will cost me at least one day...

The only reason I still run Windows is IMatch. Otherwise, I would be Linux 24/7. But I gladly boot into Win 7 to work with IMatch : )

You can run IMatch inside a container / VM in Linux.
Several of the IMatch Anywhere Beta Testers run IMatch WebServices inside a Windows VM on Ubuntu. And the IMatch WebViewer web site on Apache. Works great.
