Adding keywords from the metadata panel

Currently if you double click on the keyword box in the metadata panel it shows a hierarchical tree of all the keywords you have in the thesaurus. If you walk that tree to a leaf node and click on it, it enters that leaf as a keyword. But, it doesn't enter the full hierarchy. So what you end up with is a new keyword at the top level.

I would like this changed so that enters the full hierarchy of the keyword selected.
