File Window Search Unresponsive In Presence Of An Active Filter

I think this is a new problem.  I'm using a filter to limit my scope to just files of type jpeg, png, or tiff.  Then, if I try to search via the search bar in the file window for an image having "364", the search doesn't work.  I find I have to first deactivate the filter, apply the search, and when it responds, I can lastly apply the filter.  How do I fix this?
