If you're like me, you may be curating photos not just for yourself but for generations to come. The main workspace area of IM5 allows you to set a custom logo or message. Why not use this to point people to assistance, e.g., "New? Please read <insert reference to doc here> to learn how this database is structured". That document could then describe your general approach to:

* File storage
* Numbering
* Categorisation
* Where important information is stored
* and so on.
