Hi
In IMatch 2017 the map is great.
But when I let display the images, some of them are not very easy spotting.

One possibility would be, simply create a frame around the images.
Or something else, what I do now know.

Maybe I have overseen a preference to put something like this ... finally IMatch is full of possibilities.

You will see, what I mean, if you compare the 2 attachements, in the second one I have created roughly frames around the images and I think, they would be better spotting.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

I don't see an easy way to make this work in Google maps or OSM.
If you find something on https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/3.exp/reference#Icon let me know.

The only way to do this would be to prepare the thumbnails in IMWS with a surrounding border, which of course causes all kinds of extra requirements for storage, caching etc.
Or to dive deep into HTML canvas and render the thumbnails in JavaScript with a border. But then we'll run into problems if a user tries to show many thumbnails on the map - because not this utilizes the built-on on-demand caching in the browser and delayed load.

Thanks for looking into this.
I thought, a border should be not a big problem, but apparently it is.

Well, then it is like it is, except someone has an easy idea how to make them better visible.

The Map Panel is limited by what the Google Map API and the OpenLayers Map API support.

The icon for markers is just an icon. No borders or any other things. And, frankly, I'm happy to being able to display thumbnails at all.
If you don's absolutely require to use the Sattelite View, the thumbnails are visible just fine on the normal street map. For these cases where the colors of your images match the earth overlay.

I agree.
No problem. I like it also seeing the images on the map. Cool.

Me too, it does't matter. There area lot of other interesting features to implement.
