For the first time I am noticing that IMATCH has slowed down and I see a message at the bottom of the screen that says "Updating Data Driven Categories".  Any idea what may be causing this?  I'm running the latest version of IMATCH but I noticed it after the last few updates.  I'm not a user of these that I know of.

Thanks!

Search the log file for ##SLOWCAT to identify categories which slow down the system. If you don't need them updated all the time, set them to manual update.
If you use categories with the @MetadataTag or other potentially slow formulas, see if you really need them.

If your database has 100,000 files, IMatch has to load the metadata for all these files and then process it to update a single data-driven category. If you have 20 dd cats, this can slow down the system considerably. Data-driven categories are a very powerful technology to automatically organize your database, but they come at a price.

While you're at at, also search for #sl to find other functions or routines which IMatch has logged as being exceptionally slow (taking more than 5s). Loading the database etc. will always take longer, but maybe you find some other things that are marked with that tag.
