Just started using the program (5.8.4) and all my files that I am adding to the database are on multiple external hard drives that all show up as coming from I: / H:
How do I give each hd a name so that I know which one the files come from without having to plug each individual one in to see. Thank you.

Mario

IMatch organizes files from drives with removable media by their drive letter and below that by their media label and media serial number.
You assign a label to the media when you format or burn it. Labels for write-once media like DVD or BR-D cannot be changed afterwards.
Labels for hard disks can be changed in Windows Explorer via the Properties dialog of the drive.

This is a database which manages multiple media on the F: drive. The user has used the drive label to clearly indicate what is what (red highlight).

If you did not specify useful labels when creating your DVD/BR-D you can use the friendly folder name feature in IMatch to enter and display a custom name for the top-level folder(s).
You can enter a friendly name for every folder via the Properties panel below the Media & Folders tree. To display friendly folder names, click on the Gear icon in the Media & Folder toolbar and enable the friendly folder name option: https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#mf_basics.htm?dl=h-6

For hard disk, just change the label to something useful.
