Viewing web page links in File Window?

I sometimes add web links to image folders (e.g., reference info about a location related to the images). I recently realized that these links don't show up if the link doesn't end in .htm or .html, etc. (an example of links that don't show up is https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?action=unread). Having an icon for the link would be sufficient; I don't need to show anything about the actual content.

Have I missed something? Is there a way to get web links to show up in File Window?

If you want to include .lnk shortcuts you need to add this as a custom file format under Edit > Preferences > File Formats.

Thanks, that was the hint I needed. The extensions for web links include .url.
