Hello. Since a few days (maybe after the latest update of Windows 10) I noticed that the map panel is not working anymore. When I refresh the map then for less than a second the global map view shows up followed by the attached error message, saying that Google Maps wasn't loaded properly. I also can't select another map provider: A click on "OpenStreetMap" in the Settings is ignored. Still Google Maps remains selected. The hint in the error message to see details about the error in the JavaScript console I don't know how to follow (how to access the JavaScript console). Any idea, what to do ?

Switch the Map to OpenStreetMap and close and re-open IMatch.

Do you have entered your Google Maps API key properly under Edit > Preferences > Geo & Maps?
Maybe Google has invalidated your key.
Check in the Google API console if your key is still valid.

Open the Output Panel via the View menu and switch to the Apps panel there. This will show you error messages reported by the Map panel.

Please include an IMatch log file in Debug mode from your next IMatch session, as a ZIP file in your reply.
See log file for more info.

This will show us error messages returned by Google Maps.

Mario, thanks a lot for your quick response. It took some time, but I could identify the problem, but don't know why it happened. The API-key was indeed not working anymore (seen from message in the output panel). The reason was, that in the dialogue under "Edit > Preferences > Geo & Maps" there was a " " (space) as first character in front of the API key. No idea, how this came in, as I definitley didn't open the Preferences in the last 2 months at least. But OK. Problem is solved now !!

I had exactly the same problem for the last week or so, and finally got around to researching it. When I found this post I discovered exactly the same space had been inserted in front of the API key.

Jingo

Same issue here as I had previously documented... mysterious space!

Mario

No mysterious space here, tested on 3 computers.

Hello

same Problem here.
But i have the space at the end of the API Key.
And it was not possible to switch to any other Map.

Now I delete the space at the end of the API Key. Now it works.
Thanks to Pescheid for the tip.

No issues here. I just updated my Google Maps key in response to their new requirements. My copy and paste just included the key w/o any extra spaces, so no problem.

Maybe it was easy before to accidentally copy a space at the beginning / end when copying/pasting from the Google web site into the IMatch dialog. And Google ignored blanks before their recent change...?

Jingo

Must be it Mario.. because the keys were the same but I had already copied/pasted before I realized it didn't change and noticed the space in there after it didn't work.
