IMatch Online Help

The IMatch Online Help has been updated about 12 times since I initially released it a couple of weeks ago.

I'm updating it with IMatch 2018 contents mostly, though. I really like the ability to just upload a new version of the help and it will be immediately used by all IMatch 2018 installations. Or by users who use the help in their browser. it was a piece of work go get rid of the CHM help, but the web-based help is so much nicer... and mobile-friendly!

Just added a new overview page with a short description of all the apps which will be included in IMatch 2018:

This also displays the icons I've designed for all the apps, which is quite a sight!

Hello,
when the the online help announcement first appeared, I think that I have downloaded the help that now appears as
"C:\Users\Emil\AppData\Local\Programs\imatchhelp\IMatch Help System.exe"

Previously I used to open the imatch.chm separately, when I wanted to have it ready.

After Mario announced all the updates to the online help, I made me a desktop shortcut to the "real" online help at https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/  that I assume is the one being constantly updated, but of course is only available when the internet connection is present (which is nearly all the time, anyway).

Out of curiosity - where did I get the above .exe file from, and is that being a constantly updated location, same as the online help?

When IMatch 2018 is out, I will update the help system app with each new release. Currently, it is just a test and not updated as often as the online version of the help. I wanted to know if it works in the wild and if users can install/uninstall it without problems.

IMatch 2018 will use the web-based help as default. It will ask you for your preference when you first open the help via <F1> and you can later switch between web help and the help app via Edit > Preferences > Application.

My hope is that most users will use the web-based help because this allows me to keep everything up-to-date more easily. I've designed and implemented the help system app only as as a fallback, for users who need access to the help system while on the road or without Internet connection.

It's also a cross-platform test project (the help system app can be compiled for Windows, Linux and MacOS).
