Hello I'm Mike and new around here.
I'm currently testing IM to go with DXO/CS6 and I'm can not get by head around the buddy script. I have read the help files a couple of times and I think I have it entered correctly. The raw files I deal with are rw2.  I just copied the existing script for nef and inserted rw2 in place of nef.
Please bare with me on this, if I can get over this hurdle I will purchase IM and learn as I go.
Regards Mike

Hello Mike,
Welcome to Imatch. I assume you mean buddy concept. I use DXO and my buddy file definition is as follows:

Master expression:   \.(arw|jpg)$
Replacement expression:  ^_*//
Link Expression:^(_*{name})\.(jpg.dop)$
Search folder: Master Folder

You can test the expression with the test expression button. A window opens where you can test the expression. The nef buddy definition in my setup is not active, but should work too if you specify the Master folder as where to search. DXO puts the file in the same directory as the original, so that's where Imatch needs to look for the buddy file. Don't know anything abouty CS6.

Hope that helps,

Heiner

If you swap nef with rw2 the buddy file rule should work right out of the box. Don't forget to enable it by ticking the box in front of it.
You did not write what the actual problem is...buddy files not found? Error message? Your PC melting?

Show us one of your file names and a buddy file name and location (the folder structure you use).
The NEF rule searches for buddy files only in the folder the master is in. If your buddy files are in a sub-folder, you need to adjust that.

Thanks for the info. I went back into the Buddy setup and started over and this time all Good !!! Testing sending files back and forth between
IM/PL/CS6.
Going to go ahead and purchase and start setting up to meet my needs.

One quick question, a square box icon appeared next to the star rating in the file preview window. Cannot find what its meaning may be??

I'm not quite sure which IMatch feature you refer to.
The "preview window" do you mean the Quick Panel with that (where you see a larger preview of the file currently focused in the File Window)?

See help: https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#panel_preview.htm

Or do you mean the File Window?

See https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#fw_cols.htm for all icons used in the File Window.

Tip: If you are unsure about how things are named, just press <Alt>+<Print> on your keyboard to make a screen shot, crop it to the relevant part, save it and attach it. This makes it clear what you mean.

Sorry for my poor descriptions!!!
I looked a that icon list and the box isn't on that list.
In the File window next to the star ratings is a small box that can have two  different colors.  Green on right and left is blank or red on left and green is blank. At work now, but will take a screen shot later.

Will try to provide better info in the future.

Yes.  A screen shot will make it clear what you mean. I'm still unsure... :-[

See in the help-file under "relations".
And yes, better descriptions would be better. Thanks.

Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)
