I just upgraded to IMatch 2018, and I'm wondering where are the help files?

Mario

Did you have time yet to read the release notes?
I'ts also explained (first topic) in the IMatch 2018 - What's new announcement: https://www.photools.com/imatch-2018-whats-new/

The default IMatch help is now on-line and IMatch uses it when you press <F1> or click on a help button.

For users who are not always online, a separate help app has been developed, which is an extra download:

https://www.photools.com/imatch-help-app/

IMatch informs you about this when you open the help for the first time. It also mentions where you can switch between the default online help and the locally installed help app.

Yes, I did read enough to see that there are changes, but for whatever reason, when I try to access this help via <F1>, nothing at all is happening!  So, what gives?

Mario

Pressing <F1> will open the IMatch help in your default web browser.
Maybe you have some sort of plug-in, anti-virus or whatever installed that causes IMatch to fail to launch the web browser?

This is never supposed to fail. IMatch just asks Windows to open a certain URL in the default web browser. Unless Windows returns an error message, IMatch has to assume that this worked.
Maybe there's an error logged in the IMatch log file?

Can you open other web links from IMatch, e.g. the Release Notes or the photools.com web site (Help menu links)?

Turns out that the problem was that I did not have a default browser specified.  I set a default browser, and so far, so good.  Thanks.

Mario

Hm, that's unusual. Windows usually sets IE / Edge as the default and you have to explicitly change this. Most browsers will ask you "Do you want to make NN the default browser" when they start. Unless you disable that message as well.
