Search Everywhere does not find categories

Hi,  when I searched the entire database for "Smooch" - a horse's name, in case you wondered , nothing came up, although I have Everywhere checked, and all filters cleared. Later I found out that I have a whole category named Smooch  for the horse.
Granted that this is not a major problem, and I should remember my categories, especially when I happen to use Categories rather than Keywords.
However, Everywhere perhaps should be, well, everywhere. As the search bar can find Keywords and many other things, should it not find the photos under Category as well?

If you used the File Window Search Bar - "Everywhere" means everywhere in the metadata. The search bar does not search in categories.
If you want to search for categories, use the find/filter functions in the Category View. Or the search function available in the Category Panel. Or the Category Filter.

Ahha,  guess I did not understand that Keywords are part of metadata. My "problem" was that I did not remember that particular category existed:-[, if I had, finding it by any of the means you mention would be as easy as can be.

Keywords are a key part of metadata (part of XMP as well as part of legacy IPTC).

When you assign keywords to your files, IMatch automatically mirrors them in the @Keywords category.
When you assign a file to a category below @Keywords, the corresponding keyword is automatically added to the keywords in the metadata.
@Keywords gives you the best of both worlds, so to speak.

If you assign files to other categories (outside @Keywords) this does not become part of the metadata. This is of course intentional.
