Hello.

How can I make a file attribute to appear on the metadata panel?
looks like the tag selector does not give the option of adding the attributes, but maybe i overlooked something?

Right now, my file attributes do appear on the attribute panel, that's OK.
I would like to consolidate all my meaningful data on one single panel...

Thank you

Mario

The Metadata Panel works with all the IPTC, EXIF, XMP, GPS, PDF, ID3, ... metadata cached in the database and managed by ExifTool.

IMatch Attributes (I assume you mean that and not file (system) attributes like 'read-only' or 'hidden') have their own dedicated panel where you can view and edit this data.

If you want to combine metadata and Attribute data in a custom View, check out the App Panel. It has been built to allow users to define their own views on their data. For example, check out John's collapsible metadata viewer: https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=335.0. See the App Panel topic in the help file for detailed info and descriptions.

You can also display Attribute data directly above or below each thumbnail by creating your own file window layout and including the appropriate variables which represent your Attributes.

Perfect Mario.
Thank you very much for the clues.

And yes, I meant IMatch Attributes, sorry.

Hi Mario,

is there a way to create a data-driven category based on the Attributes? Or are you planning a similar thing?

I just found Attributes and I love them because I can build up global infos (by the way, I don't know what happens when there will be too many infos in a reference set, the dropdown list is a little crowdy after 10 items, what will happen with 100-200 or much more items?).

I'd like to organize the files by those data, and I think it would be much easier and more effective than always build a filter.

Thanks and Regards,
Mammut
