Advice on defining keywords

After going through the set of video tutorials, I have a couple of doubts on defining keywords:
1. I thought I could define a set of pictures, e.g. for a trip, as a "collection" (e..g 2015_Morocco). Nevertheless,
the meaning of "collection" in iMatch is different. What would be the best way of grouping together all photos
of the same trip (or i.e. of Xmas2018)? A non-hierarchical keyword?

2. I like to define broad place names, (e.g. "Roses Beach"), for each photo besides actual GPS coordinates. There is a metadata field for Location but requires quite strict sub-fields (City, Location, ISO Cntry Code...), so I do not think this is the best place. Should I just define a hierarchical keyword "Site" and then define my broad place names within it?

Advice appreciated,

Agus

1. Either use a hierarchical keyword (like "WHERE|Morocco" or "Vacations|Morocco" or "Vacations|Morocco|2015" or "WHAT|Vacation" in combination with "WHERE|Morocco"). This all depends on your preferences and needs. How would you like to find the images later?

Or, use IMatch categories. Or a combination of keywords and categories. Remember: Keywords go into the file, categories stay in the database.

The Internet is full of tips & guidance for using hierarchical keywords in DAM products. I think when you google a bit you will find some good schemes for your situation.
There is no standard or best solution. Start simple, make changes along the way. IMatch makes it easy to rename keywords, move files to other categories, add or remove levels etc.

2. The XMP standard for location data is strict for a reason. IMatch also supports reverse geocoding so it will fill in that information from your GPS coordinates automatically, if you enable and configure reverse geocoding. Reverse Geocoding

Using a hierarchical keyword "Sites|Roses Beach" or maybe "WHERE|Sites|Roses Beach" should work. Most users do it that way.
