I know I've done this before, but...  I have an image that is tagged with Category A.  I'd now like to also tag it with Category B.  I select the image in Cat A in the Categories view and try to also select Cat B, but the image disappears from the Cat A.  I've tried to use the Ctrl and Shift keys with the mouse move, but no luck.  Any help greatly appreciated.

The Category View only allows you to select multiple sibling categories at the same time, so your approach will not work in most cases.

It is much easier to assign files to categories if you use one of the standard ways:

1. Use the Categories Panel. See The Categories Panel for details.

The Category panel is open by default and you should see it at the bottom right of the IMatch window.
If not, you can open it via the View menu > Panels > Categories Panel or the keyboard shortcut <F9>,<C>.

- or -

2. Copy the images you want to assign into the clipboard with Ctrl+C. Then switch to the other category and insert the files with Ctrl+V

- or -

3. Select the files and drag them to the other category you want to assign them to.

But the the Categories Panel is of course the simplest way and the way most users do it.
You can assign (or un-assign) any number of selected images to any number of categories by just ticking the boxes.

Tip: You may also want to check out Favorites, which are a great way to assign files to one or more categories with a single mouse-click or keyboard shortcut.

Thank you, Mario. It had been a long time since I worked with iMatch and the Categories pane was the step I had forgotten.

Appreciate the quick response.
