A small thing, but I wonder whether it would be possible to provide in the Map view next to Standard OSM the German version of OSM as well? The reason why I ask is the diplay of exclusively Chinese written names, when it comes to China. I know that e.g. the German version of OSM provide "latin written" names as well. Not really a big deal, but nice to have.

You can see the difference in OSM displays in the following two pictures. The fiorst one is from Map View (standard OSM) and the second one from https://www.openstreetmap.de.

This all depends on the implementation then I guess. I don't use OSM directly, I use it via OpenLayers for OSM, Bing, Stamen maps.

If you have docs or specs how to enable multiple display languages in a portable way, let me know or attach a link.

As far as I remember, this requires to use a different "tile server", because the names are part of the bitmaps he tile server sends (they are of the image tiles, unchangeable). This would need a title server that has maps with both the languages you want... There may be some special maps out there, which could be used as overlays, but that's complex and not worth the effort. Google maps displays Chinese and English/German, so maybe use that map.

I don't have any docs or specs but came across (in another context) the choice bewteen "standard" and "German" OSM. Obviously not worth the effort to add this feature, as it would be needed only in some few cases, where alternatives could be used in parallel.
