Metadata Write-back in new files

I have created a new database, I have imported the folders and without finishing the initial metadata import I already have 6200 files in "Pending Metadata Write-Back" (video and photos).

I have not changed anything in any file, just import.
It is normal?

Maybe I didn't get it right, but .. "Metadata write back" is to write the database changes to the files or is it useful for something else?

When IMatch imports files it produces a high-quality, complete and standard-compliant XMP record by mapping legacy IPTC, EXIF, GPS etc. metadata into the XMP record.
Even if your files already have XMP data, the record produced by IMatch and ExifTool is superior. A pending write-back is thus normal, because the metadata in your files does not have the XMP data yet.

You can let IMatch write back the changes at any time you see fit. Until then the data is safely stored in the database.
