IMatch window gets sometimes blurred while doing background operations

Hello,

I am trialing IMatch.
I started using it on my photos from 2018 and 2019, which count about 20000 (hobbyist, but not haven't deleted much up to now).
IMatch is now getting through all the files.
I noticed, that when IMatch is doing a background process, the main window (maximized) gets sometimes blurred (not totally sharp) and it is over the taskbar.
I am using Windows 10 with a full-hd monitor.
Was this behaviour discovered by other users, too?

Regards,
Zoltán

What do you mean by "blurred"? Screen shot perhaps?

IMatch will be very busy when it is indexing files. It may not always be able to respond to user interaction within the 3 seconds Windows now gives an application before it "ghosts" / "blurs" the window. This does not really harm. IMatch will respond as fast as possible.

If you have a slower PC (notebook) you can reduce the load IMatch puts on your system by reducing the number of parallel threads.
See Process Control (Advanced Setting)

Also make sure that your virus checker is not constantly scanning the IMatch database - this can bring down performance to a crawl.

Did you mistakenly direct to the wrong help topic?  "Preferences-Background Processing" doesn't give any options related to number of parallel threads.

Attached 2 screenshots.
One "sharp" and one "blurred".
Please notice the "missing/hidden" Taskbar on the blurred one. My taskbar is set to always visible, windows default.

I understand, that indexing and writing back metadata takes time and that IMatch is not really responsive during these processes. But the display seemed strange.

That's nothing controlled by IMatch.
Looks more like something Windows is doing (?) or the graphic card (?)...

OK. I never noticed this behaviour on another application I used before.
It is not critical, only strange.

I am using Windows 10 1809, build 17763.864
Graphic card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with an NVIDIA Driver from 2019.06.05, version 26.21.14.3107.
It is a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790-00xx with an Intel Core i5-8400 CPU at 2.8 GHz with 8GB RAM.

Looks like Windows is ghosting the IMatch window to indicate that the application is busy or not responding...
If your system is maxed out, try to reduce the number of parallel threads IMatch is using to process your files (see my other post above for more info). This will reduce the load on the system and may fix this strange issue.

Also, double-check that your virus checker is not slowing down IMatch by constantly scanning the database.
Check the log file log file for warnings (starting with W>) or errors (starting with E>) to see if IMatch has trouble processing your files, if ExifTool is maybe stalled or stopped dead by your anti-virus etc. 90% of all "IMatch is slow" reports are caused by virus checkers back-firing.
