For sure a stupid question, but I can not figure out, why I have 2 different thumbnails sizes; must be somewhere in the settings.

Not enough info.

Impossible to tell from he screen shot. Are these RAW files?
Have these been added at the same time?
Both files in the same format?
...

Maybe the left one failed and IMatch could only extract a very small thumbnail?
By default IMatch does not upscale thumbails (to more than 100%) in the File Window (there is an option for that).
So if the thumb on the left is only 160x120 pixel and the on the right is 300x300, this would explain that.

But if IMatch fails to extract the default 300 pixel thumbnail, the file format is probably not supported by either WIC or LibRaw...?
Did you run a WIC Diagnostics for the file (if not a JPEG) to see if the file can be loaded by Windows WIC and/or LibRaw.

What happens when you force a rescan of the file? Select the file and press Shift+Ctrl+F5.
If this works, then keep an eye out for if this happens again. And if this happens again, make sure you copy the log file (Help menu > Support) to retain all related info. Maybe IMatch reports a warning or error when this happens. This should help us to diagnose this further.

Mario, thanks for your quick answer. Both files are jpeg, similar size, but of course different date. CTRL+SHIFT+F5 did the trick. As  there many of those files wit small thumbnails I'll do a complete rescan for all files.

Hm. It would be interesting to know under which condition this happened...
JPEG files are almost never a source of problems. Especially not regarding that IMatch can pull only 160x pixel thumbnail. That is the fallback for RAW files when neither the embedded preview image nor the RAW data can be extracted. But JPEG don't have that, just the image and, sometimes, a small 160 pixel preview. IMatch would only use this if it cannot read the JPEG - but that would be really strange.

If this happened in the past and you cannot reproduce it, no chance.
We would need a repro case and the log file from that IMatch session to see if and which errors IMatch reported...

OK, getting closer now. Check several files and found this, when doing the WIC Diagnostic:
See files attached; one for the jpeg and one for the according raw file.
Raw files are developed in LR; Any of the other logfiles needed (normal, medium, full, debug)?

Nevermind, just read that WICDiag is not relevant for jpeg, sorry. ;)

IMatch does not use WIC codecs for loading JPEG files (except for loading cache files).
JPEG WIC diagnostics is OK. JPEGs have no previews, very rarely an embedded thumbnail and the full JPEG loads fine with the WIC codec.

The WIC diagnostics for the RAW looks fine, the format is supported by the built-in WIC codec.

No hints from that angle, unfortunately.
