For some reason my photo database is only opening in read only mode.
Attached is a debug log file

Another database within the same folder opens ok, so it cannot be a folder permissions issue...

I notice that when I close the database the files .imd5-shm and .imd5-wal are still present
(I did delete these and tried opening database - but this had no effect

Ideas... before I grab a backup from a couple of days ago....

Thanks,
Aubrey.

IMatch says:

'C:\IMATCH5_DB\190619_2019_06_2.imd5' for thread 3F78 (16248)  Database file read-only/on read-only media.

Make sure the database file is not write-protected and that your user account can open it in writable mode.

Thanks Mario,
What do you mean "your user account can open it in writable mode"?
Is this my Microsoft account on PC, or something to do with IMatch?

Aubrey.

I cannot tell.
Only that Windows reports that the database file cannot be opened in writable mode. Check for the read-only flag of the database file in Windows Explorer, check your virus checker, maybe reboot, ...

Reboot solved issue... strange as the initial problem appeared just after a reboot  :-\
Thanks for the suggestion.  ;)

I've hit the same problem.

I have attached the log file. Browsing the log file, I see that iMatch is finding the database as being writable, line #577, and later at line #655 is opening the database in read-only, considering the HDD as being a read-only media.

The database file is not read-only. I tried already to reboot the system, but that did not fix the issue.
The database is located on the Document directory, and the user ID is an administrator on the system; I'm even running iMatch as Administrator.

Go to the Database menu and make sure the option to open databases in read-only mode is off.

Thank you very much, Mario!
The database setting to open in read-only mode was turned on.
