Merging persons has no effect

I think the procedure is clear, and I do it as in the Help. But it has no effect on persons.
1. I select the source person, and after that with SHIFT I select the target person. So, the source person has a yellow, the target person has a red background. They have a bit different name. The source person has no trained faces, the target has a lot of them.
2. I select from the "..." menu the "Merge people..." command.
3. It seems to be all right, so it will merge into the target person, I selected. I run it with OK.
4. I see at the buttom of the window, that something is happening.
5. I hit F5, but everything remains as before.

What could be wrong?

Does the source person have confirmed faces?

No confirmed faces (Trained faces windows for that person is empty.)

Your log file shows that the merge is called and there is no error or warning.
Have you tried clicking into the Person List and press F5? Maybe its just a refresh problem on your system?

I have refreshed view F5, run Diagnosis (found no problem), made IMatch restart. I have two pairs is perons like this, so I might have done somerthing wrong, but what.

Does this mean it works in general just not with these two person? Or it does not work at all for you?

I have two examples of person pairs, and these are working the same way. No effect.
If I move a bit the face frame, so I iniciate the face recognizion, it finds to correct, trained face (that is my target person in the merging process). And after that reassign with the target person.

Merging changes the assigned person of the source faces to the target person.
This has nothing to do with the actual recognition. It just changes the assigned person and re-evaluates the "distance".
Not sure what you are trying to tell me.

If the merge works, the source persons have no faces assigned anymore.
If this does not work and there are no errors / warnings in the log, I need to figure out what could go wrong. No idea right now.
