Title: Add folder with Face Recognition
Post by: Wikke21 on May 15, 2020, 12:50:04 PM
Is it possible to add a whole folder with the "Face Recognition"-data made for all pictures in that folder?
Thx

I don't understand what you mean.

Do you want to perform face recognition in IMatch?
Then just select all files in that folder and run face recog from the File Window.
Or enable automatic face recognition for new / updated files under Edit > Preferences > Application: Automatic Face Recogntition.

I made a (large) subset of old family photos (photos stored in a directory called "Family Old").
I then loaded these photos in an Imatch database (called "Family Old)" and ran FaceRecognition. FaceRecognition found the similar faces; where necessary I manually made corrections and gave names to persons.
The "Family Old" database is OK.
My question is: Is it possible to import the "Family Old" database in another database ("General" database with family, friends ...) in a way that the FaceRecognition data of the "Family Old" database is inherited in that larger "General" database?
and one should not start again giving names to the old family photos stored in the "General" database?
Thx

No, this is not possible.
The face data cannot be directly exported, it is linked to the file records and thumbnail data in the database.
Your task something rather unusual.

You can export persons and import them into the new database.
Do this first to make sure the persons are in the new database.

Then make sure the original database has written back the metadata of the files. This includes the XMP face regions and tags.
Then index the files into the other database. IMatch reads the XMP face regions, performs face detection and assigns persons based on the tag found in the XMP.
See Working with XMP Face Regions (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#people.htm?dl=h-97)
