Title: Plugins - img_formats.cfg
Post by: minstrel on June 26, 2013, 08:25:44 PM
Where is the " img_formats.cfg " located in imatch5?

Should this no longer exist what is the best way to add 'extra' file types?

All success with the beta launch!... it is ALL very impressive!

At this time you cannot add your own file types to IMatch 5.
If you are missing file formats, please add a feature request and give me as much details as possible.

Thanks Mario...

No biggie, for the moment.  We'll let things settle down for now and let you concentrate on more important things.

I've added well over a hundered different file types of all sorts in imatch 3.6, which made [make] it a very powerful database...so please remember to add that capability, if possible, when you can.

Ok. Should we start for each file format a new threat?

I would like: *.mpc  (mp3-format).

MPC is a MPEG-derivation. I have added it as an extension to the Audio/Video format category for the next build.

Thank you Mario,

I have also hundreds of extensions, which I would like to be added, but I do not like to bother you with this.
With MediaPro, JPhotoTagger, Idimager and IMatch 3.5 such additions are under end user control, which was/is not at all bad.

But I understand finally, that you like to control the level of extension support. This because users will certainly start then to ask for thunbnail support of specific extensions (e.g. TrueType Fonsts *.ttf or other stuff). And then you would have again the job of closing the opened "Pandora Box". In JPhotoTagger, the thumbnail generation is job of the end user with help of external command line tools (e.g. imagemagick, mplayer), which is not bad, but relatively complex. I just like to provide my humble feedback, so I am fully accepting your IM product feature decisions with this hot topic of extensions support.

Kind Regards, Martin

There are already several feature requests open on this and I commented.

I would like to add *.mus (Finale music notation) file formats to be able to manage my sheetmusic via imatch.
For the moment, no metadata readout would be necessary, just the ability to add these files to the database, categorize, group/stack them with pdfs.
Could this be possible?
