Title: Now I have two thumbnails for each file - how to recover
Post by: paloscsaba on July 09, 2020, 09:04:25 PM
After a series of mistakes I ended up having over 9000 duplicate files in the sense that I have 2 thumbnails for each file in a folder hierarchy
It happened long ago, so I cannot go back and recover from the backup, I would loose to much work.

It affects all of my pictures from 2019, it happened by mistakenly rescanning instead of relocating when the images were moved, then relocating one of the folders to the other.

Of course I could remove them all from the database and rescan, but I don't want to loose my category assignments.

I would like to merge the duplicates together so that their category assignments (this was the most work) get merged. Is this possible? I hope there is a way without coding. I haven't tried iMatch scripting yet, and I am not familiar with JavaScript.

What do you suggest?

PS.: Sorry if I asked the same some years ago, I have a deja vu feeling.

Ah, of course there is a way: database diagnostics solved it.

Sorry for the dumb question...
