Hi,
I'm having an issue with all images taken vertically are displayed horizontal. In the attached files, just taken as an experiment, the 2 on the right were ingested with Photo Mechanic. One of these was manually rotated.
The 2 on the left were dragged of the card into the same directory, these are the same 2 images.
I have opened these images in DXO PhotoLab, ON1 PhotoRaw, Affinity Photo, Qimage, and Windows. All these open them correctly vertically.
Here's a link to one of the images that was dragged from the card:

Oddly many, but not all, older images appear to be rotated correctly.
The attached was taken with a Nikon Z7.
Any insight would be appriciated.
Cheers,
Alan
Solved the issue. I didn't have the NEF Codec installed. This solved the issue. Sorry for any trouble.
Interesting though, I thought I did have the codec installed ::)
Windows 10 includes a set of WIC codecs, including one for NEF. They usually work well.
Some users get (got) better results with the separate codec pack from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/raw-image-extension/9nctdw2w1bh8?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
And Nikon also provides a up-to-date WIC codec for their file formats, which should be superior. Nikon knows their proprietary file formats best, after all.
