Title: How do I remove (1) from files names
Post by: Stevef48 on June 01, 2021, 01:12:03 PM
My camera created duplicate .jpg and .orf files, which were renamed so that M501003.jpg became M5001003 (1).jpg etc.
The Renamer ignores my instruction to remove " (1)" from the names (see attached screenshots). N.B. I've tried with and without quotes around the text.

Is it possible to use Renamer to change the files' names back to what they were? e.g. M501003 (1).jpg  to M501003.jpg.
Thanks in advance
Steve

Your replace expression looks strange. Where do the " come from?
Just enter <blank>(1) as the replacement expression and it will work.

That was what my first attempt looked like.
Strangely it worked as expected today.
