Title: Limitations On Attribute Character-Lengths?
Post by: Darius1968 on June 22, 2021, 12:24:40 PM
This is a simple question, and I apologize, in advance, if my answer is well documented in the Help.  As it is a maxim to keep the character-lengths of file-names - Some of mine might be on the long side - short-and-sweet, if the original (long) file-name is to be imported into a text attribute field, is it okay to assume that the character-length of this field is unbounded, or is it too subject to size-constraints?

From the Attributes help:

Attributes of type Text can store any length of text.

If you pack megabytes of text in an Attribute, the Attribute panel may not be able to display it comfortably, though.

I think around 200 is among my biggest file-name-lengths.  Many files have far less!
