Is it also possible to search/filter for folders/directories names
Sure. Where?
You can search and filter the list of folders shown in the Media & Folders View: The Filter Tab (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#mf_basics.htm?dl=h-16)
You can use the Folders (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#panel_filter.htm?dl=h-41) filter in the the Filter Panel (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#panel_filter.htm).
This allows you to filter any scope for one or more folders (e.g. specific folders in a year or a category or collection or event or folders containing files for one or more persons or ...)
You can use the Search Bar (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#fw_basics.htm?dl=h-40) in the File Window and make it search for folder names.
If these features are new to you, the help will provide all the information you need.
not sure it I dont do it the right way, but it does not work as I would expect:
Filter: I can select Verzeichnisse (Hab zuerst nach "Ordnern" gesucht und Verzeichnisse übersehen) - ok
Then I can manually add or subtract folders (by folder) - but I cannot type in HABSA or *HABSA* (Filterausdruck eingeben) and only all pictures in a folders containing these name-part are shown.
It seams that this field is only for filtering the Verzeichisse-Filter but the arrows dont work (would expect that the next folder would be highlighted ...)
Same in the Search-Bar - works fine with part of the filenames but not with foldernames here - if I select the folder 08 and then type in HABSA or *HABSA* nothing is shown.
Could it be that this does not work with all preferences for that panel?
Search bar - da hab ich nun das Untermenü neben dem X entdeckt - Verzeichnisse ausgewählt - nun funktioniert es - das passt!
Beim Filter rätsle ich noch ...
The search field in the Folder filter does not support * - what made you think that?
It uses a simple contains mode so searching for HABSA should do the trick? No *
1) OK - maybe Stupidity - Search bar is already solved :D
2) Folder Filter
In Help : The Folder filter works exactly as the Category filter explained above, but for folders.
With Category filter - the arrows work - but they dont work in the Folders Filter
QuoteWith Category filter - the arrows work - but they dont work in the Folders Filter
This was a small glitch. I have fixed that for the next release.
Thank you!
