Title: Disable automatic updating in File Viewer
Post by: frankdarwin on September 21, 2021, 04:40:39 PM
Is it possible to turn off the automatic update of the File Viewer?
Background of the question:
I am viewing all photos of unknown persons to edit the names in the viewer.
When I have given the unknown person a name, the file viewer is automatically updated and the photo I have just edited is no longer displayed there.
So far, so good.
But there are situations where I still want to see all the photos.

You mean you enter the Viewer from "Unknown Persons" in the "People" view?
A simple solution: Select all files with "Unknown Persons" in the "People" view and put them into a temporary collection. I would use Bookmarks (Shortcut: B), but all other collections (pins, dots,..) would equally work. Then start the viewer from the corresponding "Collections" view instead of from the People view. Then you can work with you chosen set of files, regardless if you assigned a person or not.

Or use Ctrl-G,R to put the files into a result window first.
