Many ears I am keeping Windows10 PC for a few applications only - iMatch, Bluebeam Revu (since they shut down the Apple version).
Now I plan to go for a new Apple Studio for my photography (C1 & Ps) and video (Davinci Resolve).
For all my photo/video data and backups I am using a few Synology NASs.
If run Synology VMM with Windows10, can move the installation of iMatch there?
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Synology runs a Linux derivative.
If you plan to run something like VirtualBox/VMWare to run Windows on your NAS and then run IMatch on that (which will work), you might face some rather significant performance challenges.
A pro-grade (aka beefy and expensive) DAM can handle this, but entry-level NAS system usually can't.
Thank you, Mario!
I have different models but plan to try it on DS1520+, which is very powerful.
I hope it can handle it.
Thanks again!
If you google for
DS1520+ run Windows
you'll find info and videos of how to install and run Windows on that box, and also about which performance to expect.
This also depends on how many files you manage in IMatch of course.
