I cannot find this setting in preferences settings. I would like to switch off this notice.
Enable show extended setting and then search for recent.

I second that the in-app suggestion be updated to help people find this setting. The feature somewhat annoyed me by taking away real estate with something I didn't need. I searched about 3 times through all the settings and couldn't find this one, giving up after each try. Eventually I realized I should search out here in the community and found the answer - but one shouldn't have to waste so much time on something like this. Would be great to update the message to users (or have the search in settings "find" it! even if the extended option isn't enabled). Thank you.

You can close this panel via X quickly.
IMatch displays a message telling you how to disable this.
IMatch telemetry shows that the vast majority of users never disable this, I've made this an extended setting.
Extended settings hide options not used by 95% of all users ever.
Hiding such never or rarely used settings behind the extended settings allows me to keep the Application settings reduced and clean.
