Hi,
If you select multiple files and want to add/change the author name, it is only applied to one file and any existing values in the rest of the selected files are deleted.
Robert
This has been resolved for IMatch 2023.1.8.
Thanks you for reporting this.
Hi Mario,
This issue is still present in version 2023.1.12. When I add an author to a selection of files, it is not applied to all the selected files, but only to the first one, regardless of whether I type in an author's name or select one from the history.
Best,
Robert
First one or focused file?
I cannot reproduce this here with the current version (2023.1.12).
I select 6 files and enter an Author. Commit changes. All six files receive the Author.
I select a new set of 10 files and enter the first letters of an AutoFill entry. Select the AutoFill entry. Commit changes.
All 10 files receive the new author.
Any specific steps I need to use. Details often matter.
Adding an author's name is only applied to the focused file. After some trial and error, I found out that the problem only occurs when the fields are empty, i.e. when files are newly added to the database. Changing existing author names, on the other hand, works. I noticed this because I had to change every one of over 30 newly imported files.

I could also reproduce this.
Yes,

I could also reproduce this error (exactly as Rohbert described it).
I can reproduce this. Looks like a regression.
Work-around: When the (Multiple value) appears in the MD panel, click the pen and commit changes. This applies the value to all selected files.
I think this is related to this bug report:
Meta data copy and multiple value issues (photools.com) (https://www.photools.com/community/index.php/topic,13329.msg94007.html#msg94007)
The pencil workaround does work.
