Quick question... i purchased (but never installed) the 2021 of iMatch. I just purchased the 2023 version. Do I have to install the previous version before I install the new version?

No, should work just fine.
But, jumping from IMatch 2020 (?) to IMatch 2023 is a BIG step. I only full test updates between succeeding IMatch releases (2021 - 2023 in this case) because that's already a lot of work.
When the support period expires, I remove the now unsupported version of IMatch from my systems and concentrate on the current version and "next" version.
Any particular reason why you've bought IMatch 2021 but never installed it?
it contains so many important bug fixes and new features which could've saved you so much time...
Make sure you read all the release notes between your 2020 version and IMatch 2023 (many!) so you'll learn about changes and additions and new features. Heck, IMatch 2020 didn't even have the IMatch AI on board...

Just an FYI - I *DID* install the previous version. For some reason, I thought I didn't. I just checked, and right now I have 2021.18.4 version installed. And now I can upgrade to the new version. Whew!
