Can someone explain the Duplicates category for me. When I run a search for duplicates I get none (I cleaned them up a while ago), but the Duplicates category says I have 45 duplicates. Why the difference?

Did you take them out of the duplicates category after cleaning up (they can go in automatically, but won't leave unless you do something) ?
IMatch Help - Configuration - Indexing (photools.com) (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/rmh_config_indexing.htm)
IMatch assigns duplicates to this category when it finds them.
It cannot remove files from the category automatically since it has no idea about if and what you did about the duplicates.
If you remove a file from the database (delete it), it will be removed from the category. But nothing else.
That was easy. But I still don't quite understand the duplicates category. Is it just for information purposes? It's not actually showing me the duplicates as the search option does. I wouldn't want to delete the files in that category without verifying the location of the original.
This category contains duplicates IMatch finds when ingesting new or updated files. IMatch finds a dupe, it adds it to the category. If you don't need this or want to configure it differently, see Searching for Duplicate Files (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/rmh_config_indexing.htm?dl=a_dupes) in the Indexing options.
Thanks Mario. That explains it.
