Title: Please add keyboard-shortcut
Post by: rienvanham on April 04, 2024, 06:52:55 PM
Hi Mario,

Could you please add a keyboard-shortcut for:
"Tools -> TimeWiz: Change date and time in files..."

I use it very often.

(Off course I know that I can add it to Favorites (already did so)).

Thanks in advance,

Rien.

There is one already: <Atl>+<T>, <Z>
<Alt>+<T> opens the Tools menu, and <Z> selects the TimeWiz.
This works for all menus!

Or, why not just use the Command Palette (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/command_palette.htm?dl=hid-1)?

<Ctrl>+<Q> (or <Shift>+<Ctrl>+<P>search for wiz. I do this all the time.
Or, when recently searched, I can just click on the wiz button in the history.

Sometimes users are not aware of the standard Windows menu handling.
<F10> to focus the main menu. Then use the underlined characters in the command name to trigger the command or to open the menu.

This basically creates convenient hotkeys for all main menu and its sub-menus.

For context menus, e.g. in the File Window, press the <Context Menu> button and then the underlined button to highlight and execute a command. If there are multiple menu entries with the same hotkey (not always possible to avoid this), press the key multiple times to select the correct command and then press <Enter>.

This gives you options for your workflow. Sometimes using the mouse is quicker. Sometimes (often!) there is a dedicated hotkey. If not, using the menu and hotkey does the job quicker.

The fab Command Palette (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/command_palette.htm?dl=hid-1) helps when you cannot remember a command or you want to run commands buried deep in sub-menus, you want to show/hide panels, run an app, go to a folder, event or category from anywhere etc.
