Title: Evaluating iMatch with Lightroom Classic - what to look for
Post by: philburton on June 11, 2024, 11:26:28 PM
I am eager to start an iMatch trial, but I'm a bit concerned about all the features in iMatch.  What should I focus on in both iMatch and Lightroom?  What is secondary or items I can safely ignore?

Keywording is important to me.  Also I am about to scan many thousand slides and negatives.  Any special considerations there?

I would start with

First Steps (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/base_firststeps.htm?dl=hid-1)
Meet IMatch (https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/app_intro.htm?dl=hid-1)

and the free tutorial videos in the IMatch Learning Center (https://www.photools.com/imatch-learning-center/).

Make sure Lightroom has written all metadata (it does not do this by default).
IMatch will automatically pick up all metadata Lr has written, including keywords.
