Post by: ccarnot on March 18, 2025, 09:38:02 AM
Hi
can you tell me why sort profiles are displayed in french even when language is set to english ?
And how to completely reset sort profiles to default ?  (some of them don't work after test modifications...
Thanks a lot

Sort profiles are created when IMatch creates the database.
Whatever language is set as the user interface language at that time is used.

Since I could not find volunteers to maintain the French/Spanish test languages created with AI, and I don't speak these languages, I dropped the two languages from IMatch with version 2025.

You can delete and re-create the profiles you need and name them as you wish.

You cannot create this, it's unique. You cannot delete it or replace it.
What is the problem? Name in wrong language?

Ok.
English is set as language but sort profiles are displayed in french. And this french translation is very confusing... The term used for "Custom" is "Coutume" which means nothing in this context.
But it works, I can deal work with that bad translation !

As I said, the default sort profiles are created once, when the database is created.
I assume that you had set IMatch to the experimental French translation at the time, and the AI-generated resources were used, producing sort profile names in French language.

Unfortunately, there is no feature to rename sort profiles.
Probably I should change IMatch to always use the current name for the Custom and Default sort profile, from the active user interface language. This would "fix" this issue. I will think about this.

Update

I have made the change. The Custom and Default are now dynamically named during database load from the associated names in the resources for the active user interface language.
