Title: Make DISPLAY HIERARCHY work in Category View identical to M&F view
Post by: ubacher on March 27, 2014, 01:43:24 AM
In the M&F view if I don't select Display Hierarchy I only see the selected folder.

For consistency I propose that it should work identical in the category display: Only the selected category
should be displayed (not its children) unless  Display Hierarchy is set.

Currently there is only the option to
1. Set the category to Direct Assignments only. This then shows only the selected category w/o the children.

2. Filter out the child categories.  Tedious if there are many children.

Not only would this change make for more consistency but it will improve functionality as well.

One of the core principles in IMatch's category system since version 2.1 is that parent categories virtually contain the files of all their children. This is reflected in the Category View.

I support the current approach.

This request should then be reformulated as:

Add an option to NOT show hierarchy in the category display.
