Title: Show a Progress Report for time-consuming actions (ex: Propagate metadata)
Post by: ubacher on April 08, 2014, 07:16:37 AM
When I propagate metadata for a large number of files it takes a long time (understandably).
It would be nice to have a progress report on screen which also shows an estimate of remaining time.

How many files?
How long does it take?
How do you propagate?

Usually this is done in the background at write-back time and thus the Info & Activity panel shows the information you request.

A few thousand files selected and I did propagate to versions. This propagated Maker notes from raw file to jpg.
Took (I did not time it) 15 minutes or longer with the "busy" cursor.

( I clicked on a the master square and selected Propagate data to versions)
