Title: Strange Labels
Post by: Lord_Helmchen on July 07, 2014, 01:11:41 PM
In "Collections View" I see in "Label" section some strange Labels (see attachment). I have no idea where they come from and I haven't found a way to delete them.

How could I delete these labels from the photos?

This data comes straight from your files. IMatch produces one label node for each unique label found in your files.
When you click on one of these entries, does IMatch show files in the file window? If so, select them all and assign a proper label.

Thanks Mario. That was too simple. I was wondering, as I couldn't see these strange labels in assignment dialog, so I was not sure if this is the right place.

And I use labels very rarely, as I could only assign one at the same time.

XMP supports only one label per file. And the label is normal text, so whatever you put into there will be used. If you use "Yellow, "For Review" or "Maiglöckchen", there is no standard and everything is allowed.

That was no criticism to you. I just have no use for this limited type of metadata.

I understood you correctly. I mentioned this just for the sake of other users.

Hierarchical keywords, IMatch categories, dots, pins, bookmarks, flags exist to allow you to manage your files your way. Ratings and labels (and keywords) have the additional benefit that they can also be read by other XMP-aware applications. If this is of no concern to you, you are completely free in how you manage your files with IMatch. Whatever works best for you is good.
